Tip Top Riding Club (TTRC) was founded in August of 1953. The
members of the club at that time participated in parades and set pivots at local
rodeos. Starting in 1956, TTRC regularly set pivots at the Kowbell Rodeo Arena
in Mansfield, TX, and continued to do so until the 1970's.
TTRC joined
the American Association of Riding Clubs &
Sheriff Posses' in October 1957 and remained a member until 1970, at which time
they became members of the newly formed National Association of Riding Clubs
& Sheriff Posses', of which it is still a
member as of today.
In June of 1964, the members voted to purchase 10
lots in the City of Forest Hill, TX to build their arena and clubhouse. Prior to
the purchase, they rented the King B arena located in Burleson, TX (now called
Holly B Arena).
In 2005, TTRC sold a portion of their property and the
money from the sale was used to build a new pipe arena, new sign-up booth,
announcer stand and equipment room. After completing these tasks, the restrooms
were totally renovated. Our next goal is a new clubhouse/concession
stand.
Here we are in 2008, 55
years later with a strong, family-oriented club full of wonderful members who
participate in parades, playdays, trail rides, pony express and other activities
that are non-horse related.
